🌱 Seeds of Wisdom – Nurturing Conscious Futures

Community education and environmental awareness through the Bosque de la SabidurĂa Foundation

By choosing Wisdom Forest as your destination—whether to join a retreat, bring your own, receive holistic treatments, or buy our natural products—you’re helping bring these community projects to life. The Bosque de la Sabiduría Foundation exists thanks to people like you who seek not only rest, but purpose.
With your visit, we’re able to do more—support more children, protect more forest, and grow deeper roots in the community.

The Heart Behind Our Work

At Wisdom Forest, we are deeply grateful to live and grow in this extraordinary corner of the world—surrounded by lush nature and the cultural richness of the Amazon. As a natural expression of that gratitude, we are honored to give something back to the local community, especially its youth.

This work is carried out through our legally recognized foundation, Fundación El Bosque de la Sabiduría, officially registered with the Ecuadorian Ministry of Environment. Through this foundation, we develop community programs that aim to inspire, educate, and support children in nearby Kichwa communities—planting seeds of awareness, confidence, and care.

Currently, Wisdom Forest protects 26 hectares of primary and secondary forest, where local wildlife is safe from hunting. Many species—such as tapirs, monkeys, and jaguars—have lost significant portions of their natural habitat due to deforestation in the region. Looking ahead, we hope to expand this protected area and develop it into one of the largest food forest reserves in the region—a living sanctuary for biodiversity and ecological education.

What We Share

🍌 Fruit Trees to Plant

For children who have access to land—often referred to as their chakra (a traditional family garden used for growing food and medicinal plants)—we provide fruit trees and edible plants they can care for with their families. This offering helps strengthen their connection to ancestral practices and supports food sovereignty at a local level.

📱 Digital Awareness

In a world increasingly shaped by screens and outside influences, we create gentle, reflective spaces where children can explore the role of technology in their lives. These sessions encourage self-worth, presence, and the value of real-life connection—while also helping to ease the bridge between their ancestral culture and the fast-paced demands of modern, digitally driven society.

🥗 Healthy Food Awareness

Through interactive and age-appropriate sessions, we explore the importance of nourishing the body with natural foods. Rather than promoting rigid ideas about health, we aim to awaken curiosity about where food comes from and how it can support both energy and well-being.

🌿 Substance Awareness and Community Wellbeing

While the distribution of alcohol by outside groups in the past has contributed to long-term challenges, today we focus on fostering awareness around its impact. In many Kichwa communities, domestic violence and traffic accidents related to alcohol misuse remain daily realities. Through respectful, age-appropriate conversations, we hope to help reduce these patterns by encouraging self-worth, emotional resilience, and healthier choices for personal and community wellbeing.

đź’§ Water Awareness and Environmental Respect

As part of our commitment to nature-based education, we share with children the vital importance of rivers and clean water in sustaining life, culture, and biodiversity. In recent years, illegal gold mining has caused severe damage to nearby rivers, leading to pollution, deforestation, and the loss of surrounding wildlife. Through diverse educational activities, we aim to cultivate a sense of care and responsibility for the rivers that support and connect their communities.

đź’ˇ Foundational Skills for Future Possibilities
We offer simple, creative workshops focused on practical skills that could, in the long term, inspire small eco-conscious initiatives—like natural product making, composting, or storytelling for local tourism. The goal is not to push entrepreneurship, but to plant seeds of possibility that honor the land, culture, and the children’s own ideas.
